Canoeing the Battenkill River in Vermont

My name is Cliff.  I came up with the idea for the Massie Creek Paddlers to promote the paddlesports. I have been canoeing and kayaking since 1998. My favorite paddling venues are quiet, peaceful lakes, rivers, back bays and marshland.  Recently, I have begun to see the appeal of whitewater paddling.

Went for a family paddle on the Great Miami River yesterday. Getting the kinks out of moving 5 boats around and making sure we have everything. Had fun and just as importantly everyone had fun.

cant wait for the Film Festival coming up, will be fun. Would also like to find out about how to join, become part of the group. I live just up the road by Clifton Mill area, and just started white water kayaking last fall. Have been rec. kayaking since I was about 6 years old on buck creek and mad river. Anyway, sure we can get more info at the film festival coming up.

Thanks for checking out the blog Gary! We are so excited about the Reel Paddling Film Festival. It’s our first event. Hope to see you there. Massie Creek is not a paddling club, our focus is promoting paddle sports. Thanks for visiting the site. Come back often and feel free to comment.

    Cliff … great site!
I want to get out on the water with you … when are you going to take me. I have no boat. That’s my story!

Great site, Cliff. I edit a small kayaking magazine: Atlantic Coastal Kayaker. I wonder if you might be interested in doing a story on Assateague and/or Chincoteague? We are not large, so we generally pay with a year’s subscription or a nominal fee. If you are interested, email me and I will send you a PDF of our latest issue so you can check us out.

P.S. We live on the Great Marsh north of Boston. Maybe we can take you paddling up here some day.

Cliff, Thank you for bringing the film festival to Ohio, my wife and I enjoyed it very much. We also enjoyed chatting with your mom (we sat next to her). If you would like help promoting the 2013 edition in the central Ohio area, I would be glad to do so.
